Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert
As far as terrarium lighting is concerned, one usually looks unsuccessfully for real revolutions. Unless you take a look at the ingenious Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert! The Lucky Reptile Bright Sun series has achieved a real breakthrough in terrarium lamps and the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert is a perfect example. This unique terrarium lamp contains everything that reptiles from desert regions really need: The right mix of light, UV radiation and heat. You don't see what's special or different here? And other UV surface emitters are even cheaper? It may look like this, but the second look at the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert reveals more! The unbelievably high performance at such a low power consumption is anything but standard. In concrete terms, this means that the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert in the 70 watt version outperforms the heat and UV output of any comparable 160 watt terrarium lamp by far! But it wasn't: As far as light intensity is concerned, the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert achieves values in the terrarium that were previously considered impossible. Here the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert even outclasses normal 160 watt terrarium lamps by a factor of five! We briefly try the slide rule and come to the following: The effective light output of the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert is 10 times as high for the same power consumption! Not only does this read ingeniously, it is also extremely efficient and saves an unbelievable amount of energy in terrarium lighting.
Please note: The Bright Sun must be operated with a suitable ballast (e.g. Bright Control Pro 3).
The fact is - and this is a measurable fact - that with the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert there is finally the possibility to establish light conditions in the terrarium that can otherwise only be achieved in the wild. On a sunny day, a light intensity of over 100,000 lux is achieved. The sun is the clear world champion there, but the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert 70 Watt comes to an astonishing 60,000 Lux at a distance of 30 cm and can at least catch up with it. And more importantly: Normal UV mixed light lamps for terrariums can reach a weak 10,000 lux with a lot of luck - here you can see a bit of what the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert can achieve. But this becomes even more impressive when you see that the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert only has to consume 70 watts of power for this, while the mixed light lamp has a full 160 watts and still has no chance. Does so much light actually have a positive effect on my reptiles? Oh, yes, we'll put that in writing. We can hardly express this better than one of our customers, who wrote to us: "Unbelievable, my animals go off like that, it's not normal! But we see it differently, because it is absolutely normal and natural. If the terrarium is illuminated with the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert, almost natural light conditions arise for terrarium animals. You can simply imagine sitting in a chamber in the dim light for years and finally walking across a meadow on a sunny day after a long time. You would feel the difference all over your body and so the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert works on your reptiles in the terrarium. The "going off" is nothing else than the completely natural behavior of your terrarium protégés under natural light conditions. And you'll also notice that under the light of the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert your reptiles shine in completely new colours - these natural lighting conditions let the animals appear in all their splendour - just like in nature. That the vitality and the activity are also massively increased and that your reptiles will simply feel "fucking well", we don't have to mention at all. Calculate for yourself with which terrarium lighting you can drive better and cheaper in the long run. Fact is: The light of the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert is an absolute wellspring of health.
One can of course ask oneself what causes this enormous difference in performance. This is easy to explain, because the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert is simply ingeniously designed in terms of energy recovery. It is important to know that conventional terrarium lamps emit a good 95 % of the energy absorbed as heat. In the end, terrarium lamps are small heaters that radiate a little light through the bench. With the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert this is completely different and the efficiency of the light output has been optimized in every respect. This has the advantage that the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert does not increase the temperature level in the terrarium too much. This way you can ensure a temperature gradient suitable for reptiles that is not disturbed by the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert. Even in the wild your reptiles would choose warm and cooler places according to their needs. Ingenious: Thanks to its low waste heat, the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert can also be used in smaller terrariums - from a size of 60 cm x 40 cm x 40 cm - which would not be possible at all with conventional UV lamps of this performance class. Also important: The Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert concentrates the heat in the light focus. This means that with this terrarium lamp you can create excellent local sun and heat spots. The reptiles can then decide for themselves when it is time for a warm sunbath. This is how species-appropriate reptile husbandry works!
And for which types of reptiles is the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert particularly recommended? Let's have a look at the light properties of the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert in detail. This great terrarium lamp reproduces a light spectrum as it occurs in desert areas. Extensive experiments with reptiles from these areas have shown that such desert-dwelling reptiles feel particularly at home at a colour temperature of 6000 K. The colour temperature of the reptiles is very low. These are, for example, bearded dragons, but also turtles, which also have a high need for daylight and UV radiation. With the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert, UV-A and UV-B radiation are also perfectly balanced and the necessary heat is also available. Turn and turn it as you like: The Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert provides real sunlight in the terrarium.
We had already been able to explain a lot about the economy of the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert, but one factor was ignored: the life span of this fantastic terrarium lamp! Here the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert shows once again why it embodies absolute top class in terrarium lighting. More than 6000 (!) hours are an operating time that other terrarium UV lamps can only dream of. You can practically convert that: After about 1 year the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert should be replaced. If we compare this with conventional UV lamps, we come to the following conclusion: Comparable terrarium lamps lose so much UV power after only a few weeks of operation that they have to be replaced after three months at the latest. The Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert creates four times the hip life! Let's just add it up: You buy the ballast for the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert only once and change the terrarium lamp only once a year. In addition there is the high energy saving, because we have with only 70 watts achievement a more than five times higher light achievement than with each conventional UV surface emitter with 160 watts. This means: With half the electricity costs five times more light in the terrarium. And now you can calculate for yourself whether the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert is an expensive terrarium lamp. It is in reality the exact opposite, namely much cheaper than the rest!
Reptile Cosmos Service: Additional Information About The Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert
- The Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert requires a suitable ballast for operation in the terrarium. Of course, the original Lucky Reptile ballast is always recommended, as the Lucky Reptile Bright Control has been adapted exactly to the requirements of the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert.
- Always operate the incredibly powerful Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert with a secure ceramic mount. Metal frames or even cheap plastic frames are not suitable here. Such sockets should not be used in the terrarium at all, because they can melt through. You should not take this risk, because you are not only endangering your reptiles. A great alternative: the Thermo Socket Plus reflector set with the ingeniously practical plug-in connection. Everything is coordinated here and the plug connection fits exactly to the Lucky Reptile Bright Control. This avoids any kind of dangerous and unsafe electrical installation in the terrarium. Plug and play is the new motto and that with maximum security!
- No problem, of course, if you want to retrofit existing cabling and installations in your terrarium with the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert. However, you should make sure that the cable used can cope with the high voltages that occur when igniting the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert.
- For smaller terrariums (size approx. 60 cm x 40 cm x 40 cm) you should use the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert in a smaller wattage. Simply take the 50-watt version or the 35-watt version of the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun. Overheating is thus excluded. The 70 Watt version of the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert can be used in all larger terrariums. This powerful terrarium lamp offers sufficient light power even for large terrariums.
With the following table we would like to show you that the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert hardly influences the ambient temperature in your terrarium. The terrarium lamp is designed in such a way that all radiated heat is focused in the direct beam area of the light. This means that the heat is directed directly downwards. Advantage: With the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert, no heat is lost upwards or sideways, as is the case with many conventional lamps. The result is a particularly high temperature in the light focus, which in the 70 Watt Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert corresponds to the temperature of a conventional 160 Watt terrarium UV lamp. Only with significantly reduced power consumption.

How to set the correct distances between the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert and your reptiles:
This is another ingenious feature of the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert: Lucky Reptile performs a power measurement on each individual Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert. The measured values are noted on a sticker that sticks to the lamp. What do you do with that information? Simple and helpful: Based on these values you can determine the perfect distance between the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert and your reptiles. With the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert, this distance can be between 20 and 100 cm, depending on the type of reptile and the wattage of your terrarium lamp. In any case, keep the minimum distance, as otherwise you could damage your terrarium protection and also endanger the functionality of the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert, as overheating may occur. The maximum distance is the distance at which the UV radiation of the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert is still high enough to irradiate your terrarium animals sufficiently. One thing is clear: the Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert remains active over longer distances, but the UV radiation no longer reaches its high intensity. Here it may be useful to install a second Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert. So when choosing the right Lucky Reptile Bright Sun UV Desert, make sure you choose a variant that gives you the optimum distance to your terrarium animals. Thus, light, UV radiation and heat emission are always in the optimum range. The following table will help you:

The distance from the lower edge of the lamp to the animal is measured. Attention, illuminants and lampholder together have a height of approx. 20 cm, which you should include. With a 60 cm high terrarium, the distance from the lower edge of the light source to the animal is therefore approx. 40 (calculated without ground). At the optimum distance, light, UV values and heat are in the perfect range for reptiles.
