In general, the tube is suitable for reptiles up to a body length of about 60 cm. The irradiation distance must always be at least 15 cm from the animal and should not exceed a maximum distance of approx. 60 cm. This is the best way for the effect to unfold and for your terrarium animals to be cared for in a species-appropriate way. And how long does the terrarium tube last? Long time! If we take a daily lighting duration of 10 - 12 hours as a basis, the Zoo Med ReptiSun 5.0 T5 High Output UV-B fluorescent tube delivers its full performance for at least 12 months! You should then replace the tube, however, otherwise the UV values may no longer be within the necessary range.
