Fluorescent tubes are very popular light sources in the terrarium - especially if you are looking for a cheap and long-lasting light source as basic lighting for the terrarium. This is especially true for the Trixie Reptiland Sunlight Pro 2.0 Terrarium Tube! This fluorescent tube must only be replaced after approx. 4000 hours of operation, as the UV output is then no longer sufficient. An absolute top value for terrarium tubes! And this also applies to the quality of the light! The Trixie Reptiland Sunlight Pro 2.0 Terrarium Tube convinces with a colour temperature of 5600 K and a colour rendering value of class 1A. Meaning? Quite simple: These lighting conditions correspond as far as possible to natural conditions, which ensures that reptiles show their most beautiful colours. In addition there is the UV-A radiation of the Trixie Reptiland Sunlight Pro 2.0 Terrarium Tube. UV-A is essential for reptilian eyes to perceive their environment correctly - we humans have fewer problems, but reptiles are clearly superior to us in terms of "colour vision". Reptiles have a fourth colour receptor, which also allows them to see ultraviolet and infrared light. Therefore: UV-A into the terrarium and your reptiles have the right view! The UV-A radiation of the Trixie Reptiland Sunlight Pro 2.0 Terrarium Tube also has other positive effects on terrarium animals. UV-A stimulates general activity, appetite and reproductive instinct - so your reptiles simply feel like they are…hm…sauwohl! The lower UV-B content of the Trixie Reptiland Sunlight Pro 2.0 Terrarium Tube naturally shows that this fluorescent tube cannot be used as the sole light source for reptiles with a medium or higher UV-B requirement. You must use additional UV lamps and/or spot lamps (heat lamps). In general, terrarium tubes are used for basic lighting in the terrarium anyway. The Trixie Reptiland Sunlight Pro 2.0 Terrarium Tube is especially suitable for the keeping of reptiles, snakes and amphibians active at night and at dusk. These species do not pose a high need for UV-B supply.
