Zoo Med Repti Calcium - Calcium as vitamin powder
Zoo Med Repti Calcium without D3 is an ultra-fine powder of pure calcium carbonate. Pure calcium, so to speak, and the only thing added to Repti Calcium with vitamin D3 is just the right dose of vitamin D3 for reptiles. Why do reptiles actually need calcium? The calcium in Zoo Med Repti Calcium is important for the hardness of reptiles' bones, claws, shells and beaks.
Zoo Med Repti Calcium without D3 can be used without hesitation for animals that are exposed to the sun for 10 hours or more a day, such as tortoises or chameleons. But also reptiles, such as snakes or spiny-tailed monitor lizards, which eat whole vertebrates, benefit from this supplement.
By the way, Repti Calcium at Zoo Med is not made from oyster shells, which can contain foreign substances. Unlike many other comparable products, Zoo Med Repti Calcium is a preparation that is free of phosphorus. This makes Repti Calcium ideal for the supply of reptiles and amphibians. Due to a special manufacturing process, Zoo Med Repti Calcium with vitamin D3 has an extremely large surface area, which results in the enormous biological availability of the product. This is the only way to ensure rapid absorption in the reptile's body.
And how is Zoo Med Repti Calcium dosed correctly?
Zoo Med's Repti Calcium is a pure calcium preparation that is used exclusively to increase the calcium level in reptiles. Repti Calcium should therefore be used in addition to other preparations that also contain vitamins and minerals, for example Zoo Med ReptiVite. Simply use Repti Calcium on one or two days per week, the rest of the time use another vitamin powder or mineral powder.
