The leaves and bark of the Catappa have long been used in aquariums in Asian countries. The bark of the sea almond tree is similar in effect to that of the sea almond tree leaves (Catappa Leaves), only much stronger. The humic and tanning substances contained strengthen the mucous membrane of the fish and make it difficult for various pathogens to penetrate this protection. The pieces of bark are just as helpful in the reproduction and breeding of your fish. On the one hand, it promotes the readiness of your fish to mate. Even blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) are inhibited in reproduction by the substances they contain. It is also remarkable that bacteria that are positive for the aquarium are demonstrably not harmed, e.g. when transporting fish, it is highly recommended to add a small piece of Catappa Bark or our Catappa Leaves to the transport water. This reduces the susceptibility and stress of the animals due to the high germ load enormously. bsp;Likewise, if you want to carry out a water change, you can treat your fresh water directly with our bark pieces. This serves to reduce the stress load on your fish, e.g. by releasing its humic and tanning agents, the bark of the sea almond tree creates a natural environment and increases the vitality and well-being of your aquarium inhabitants.

e.g;

Use in aquariums, paludariums or aquatariums : Put a piece of bark directly into the aquarium. 1 piece of Catappa Bark is sufficient for about 100 l. The bark sinks to the bottom of the aquarium within a short time; if you need a quick release of the active ingredients, briefly boil the Catappa Bark with boiling water. Our Catappa Bark releases the active ingredients into the water in a period of about 3 weeks. Afterwards you can put a fresh piece into the aquarium. The old sea almond tree bark can remain in the aquarium, as additional food and hiding place for crabs and shrimps or can be disposed of. If you also use our Catappa Leaves, please take this into account when dosing. Catappa Bark has an unlimited shelf life when stored in a dry place; however, as it is a purely natural product, variations in shape, colour and size may occur.
